UPRISERS x Suehiro

As UPRISERS continues to reimagine fashion, this collaboration is an exploration of community resilience and the modern threats to culturally significant neighborhoods. The collection includes one-of-a-kind UPRS 2.0 upcycled pieces created from historical artifacts, noren (traditional Japanese entranceway curtain) and aprons from the famed Suehiro Cafe in Los Angeles. Established in 1972 Suehiro was displaced in 2024 to the outskirts of historic Little Tokyo. These pieces serve as catalysts for conversations around sustainability, historic preservation and gentrification.

The Suehiro Forever collection are priceless pieces of wearable history and are not for sale. The UPRISERS x Suehiro Ltd Edition Upcycled Mini and Large Totes from this collection will be raffled off throughout 2024-2025 at community events. Funds raised will go directly towards the purchase of gift certificates from Suehiro DTLA and distributed to nonprofits dedicated to the support of legacy businesses in the LA's second oldest neighborhood.
