Gaia: meaning, Earth Mother.
In 1969, some students at UCLA created a publication called 'Gidra' to provide their peers a space to explore their identity, address community issues and give hope for the future. Their goal was to feature issues that were important to them that were not covered by mainstream media. Over time, it became known as the “Voice of the Asian American Movement." They were the face of opposition towards a society that oppressed them.

Thank you to everyone who supported and raised $3k for the month of June to @badguild, @artsadminofcolor, @ctr4blackequity. We will continue to support organizations who are doing incredible work for their community (@afrotectopia), (@nbjconthemove), and (@dignityandpowernow) and donate 50% of our net profits until we hit our next goal of $3k!
We Stand with BLM | With everything going on with the world right now, it's clear that we are long overdue for change. Every contribution matters and we at UPRISERS have taken some time to act, reflect, and continue to speak loudly, while focusing our efforts with our members at #HATEISAVIRUS. Our first goal is to educate AAPIs on history so that we can better inform and equip ourselves to best support our fellow black communities. Next, we want to support Black organizations in the creative and LGBTQ+ community through donations from our sales.
